Plans submitted for 1,000 bed Manchester PBSA

Plans have been submitted for a new PBSA in Manchester, with a capacity of 1,041 bedrooms.

Designed by architects Hodder + Partners, and brought forward by RG Real Estate, the plans target the former UMIST campus.

This will take shape in a 38-storey tower with a mixture of studio and cluster apartments.

“The proposals seek to reactivate a pocket of the city centre which has been neglected for too long,” said Robert Macleay, project architect.

“Along with RG Group, Layer.studio, Roscoe, HG Consulting Engineers, Civic and the wider team, we have strived to put forward a contextually driven, thoroughly considered design aiming to create a safer, animated, and exciting streetscape rooted in its surroundings.

“We are excited about the opportunities this scheme will bring for this site as well as the wider sister neighbourhood and look forward to being a part of the development of this iconic part of Manchester city centre.”
